Digitalization has also fully taken hold of agriculture! The free livestock trade app viehworld puts livestock trading for farmers on an ecologically and financially sustainable footing. Cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, poultry, alpacas and many other animal species can be auctioned or sold online. After Austria, the app will also be available in Germany in the course of EuroTier in Hanover.

The new app viehworld aims to revolutionize the livestock trade in Germany. Viehworld can be downloaded free of charge from all app stores for Android and Apple cell phones. viehworld targets conventional farmers, organic farmers and livestock traders. The need for digitization of livestock sales exists and after a test run in Austria, customers appreciate the short transport routes, which is important for the animals, the fast and uncomplicated purchases and sales, and the low commissions in the event of a successful trade.

The startup viehworld will also be represented at EuroTier in Hanover from November 15 to 18, 2022, the world's largest trade exhibition for animal husbandry and management. "We are launching to Germany with EuroTier and want to present our app, which has already been downloaded by more than 11,000 farmers in Austria, to a wide audience. Our booth is located in Hall 26, Stand 23," says CEO Florian Aspalter.

Livestock sales on the way to the digital age

The interactive tool viehworld increases the added value for all those involved in the market: for farmers buying and selling, livestock traders, consumers, auction halls and the animals themselves. The app displays all relevant data for the private sale of a livestock animal: from breeding data to pedigree and reproduction. In addition, the user can upload suitable photos and videos for each animal.

For the transparent auctions on viehworld, neither a membership fee nor a basic fee is due, but only a small commission for a successful sale. Thanks to viehworld, farmers also have more time on the farm, which in turn reduces the effort involved in livestock trading and increases profits.

More animal welfare, time & yield

As transport routes are shortened via app sales, where geo-targeting is available, the risk of disease is dramatically reduced, as viehworld co-founder and veterinarian Wolfgang Schiessl emphasizes: "With the help of a geographic filter, we ensure that animals are sold in the immediate vicinity. This guarantees a lower risk for the introduction of diseases into the own barn and a minimization of foreign germ contamination. In addition, every kilometer of transport saved has a positive effect on the stress level of the animals."

viehworld plays a pioneering role in animal health, data quality and transparency. This is exactly what the creators and investors of the project want to prove and thus lead the livestock trade into a digital and ecological future.
