A veterinarian and a banker have realised that agriculture has to move with the times. And their success proves them right.
The livestock trading app "Viehworld" by veterinarian Wolfgang Schiessl and banker and part-time farmer Florian Aspalter has only been online for a few months, but it is already considered a great success. The two men from Mostviertel started in September last year with a platform exclusively for cows, but in the meantime all types of animals are already available. Sheep, goats, horses, pigs, poultry, alpacas and even donkeys can be sold or auctioned via "Viehworld".
The app has already been downloaded more than 9,000 times, not least thanks to a cooperation with AMA, and around 400 animals have been traded with it so far. "We have seen in the last few months that there is a definite need for the digitalisation of animal sales. Above all, customers appreciate the short transport routes, which is of course extremely important for the animals," explain the two managing directors.
